Initial orientation

conSenso® Practice

conSenso® Practice opened in Berlin in May 2016.

The practice began with osteopathy and body psychotherapy. Over the years, a specialisation in osteopathic women’s health was added.

These three fields do not stand separately alongside one another. They are connected where physical symptoms, inner tension and personal strain interact.

Attitude · foundation

How we work

Every treatment begins with the individual concern.

We listen and observe carefully: How does the body stand and move? Where does breathing become shallow? Which areas keep holding? Where is movement restricted?

Some symptoms are clear and localised. A neck tightens after prolonged screen work. A shoulder hurts after one-sided strain. The lower back is overloaded.

Other symptoms spread more widely. Pain affects sleep. Anxiety changes breathing. Exhaustion makes the body feel heavy. With endometriosis or fertility concerns, physical and emotional strain may come together.

We connect the different fields only where this is meaningful for your individual concern.

Osteopathy as the foundation

Osteopathic treatment is carried out primarily with the hands.

We assess how joints, muscles and connective tissue move. Breathing, the abdominal region, the pelvis and the connection between the head, spine and sacrum may also be included.

We do not look only at the place that hurts. Tension often continues across several areas.

The jaw affects the neck. The shoulder changes the movement of the rib cage. The lower back is closely connected with the pelvis and legs.

With calm, precise touch, we work where movement is restricted or tension continues into another area.

Fields of focus

Osteopathic Women’s Health

The specialisation is based on several postgraduate training programmes in osteopathic women’s health at different training institutions, together with many years of practical experience.

This advanced training shapes the way we understand symptoms involving the menstrual cycle, abdomen, pelvis and pelvic floor.

It connects osteopathic relationships with knowledge of gynaecological findings, previous procedures, pregnancy, birth and the strain of a fertility journey.

Women’s health is therefore not an additional service alongside osteopathy, but a professional orientation that considers the female body more precisely across different stages of life.

Body Psychotherapy

Body-psychotherapeutic experience has been part of conSenso® Practice from the beginning.

It broadens the osteopathic perspective where protection, withdrawal, anxiety or chronic overload become apparent in posture, breathing or body awareness.

The psychotherapeutic element does not automatically follow from a diagnosis. It is included only when it is helpful for the individual concern.

Depending on the situation, the work may combine conversation, awareness, breathing, small movements or carefully agreed touch.

Therapeutic setting

Touch and a protected setting

Touch is an essential part of osteopathic work and may also be used in body psychotherapy.

It is always calm, highly attentive and clearly agreed.

Especially with pain, shame, difficult experiences or uncertainty in contact, treatment requires a protected setting. Closeness is not assumed. Every step can be changed, paused or ended.

The patient remains involved at all times in deciding what feels appropriate.

Treatment takes place in a calm, focused and particularly protected atmosphere. Sufficient time is reserved for every appointment.

Professional background

The work at conSenso® Practice brings together training in osteopathy, osteopathic women’s health, body psychotherapy, breathing work, hypnotherapy and support following distressing or traumatic experiences.

Which fields are included in treatment depends on the concern and on what proves helpful as the work progresses.
