Calm support for vulvodynia in Berlin-Wilmersdorf

Pain and Hypersensitivity

When Pain Persists Even Though Little Is Visible.

Burning, stinging or soreness can make clothing, sitting and physical intimacy a daily burden. At the conSenso® Practice in Berlin-Wilmersdorf, we support patients with vulvodynia or vestibulodynia when the external genital area remains sensitive or painful over a prolonged period.

Symptoms may be triggered by touch, tight clothing, sitting, cycling or sexual intercourse. For some patients, they also occur without a direct trigger.

The pain is real, even when little is visible externally or no single cause can be identified. Existing gynaecological or dermatological findings and ongoing treatments are taken into account.

How Vulvodynia May Be Experienced

Burning, Stinging or Soreness

Vulvodynia can feel very different from one person to another. Some patients describe burning or stinging. Others experience soreness, rawness or sensitivity to pressure.

Symptoms may be confined to a small area or extend across larger parts of the vulva. They may be constant, changeable or present only in certain situations.

When Even Light Contact Is Painful

With pronounced sensitivity, underwear, tight clothing, prolonged sitting or a gynaecological examination may already be uncomfortable or painful.

Physical intimacy and sexual intercourse may also become burdensome. Many patients become more cautious in everyday life even though little can be seen from the outside.

Sensitivity and Protection

A Sensitive Area Does Not Need Pressure.

With vulvodynia, the aim is not to endure touch, stretch the area or achieve opening.

Every approach follows what is possible without pain and with a sense of safety. Direct contact in the external genital area is not a prerequisite.

The focus is on taking the sensitivity seriously and not placing additional demands on the body.

Vulvodynia · Vestibulodynia · Associated Symptoms

Vulvodynia and Vestibulodynia

Vulvodynia refers to persistent pain in the vulvar area for which no single clear cause can be identified. Symptoms may be localised or more widely distributed.

With vestibulodynia, the sensitive area is concentrated around the vaginal entrance. Pain is often triggered by touch, tampon insertion, an examination or sexual intercourse.
