Preparation · infusion

Ketamine-assisted body psychotherapy

In this form of treatment, a ketamine infusion is embedded within a psychotherapeutic setting.

The infusion is established and medically supervised by a physician with extensive experience in this field. Before treatment, two detailed consultations take place: a psychotherapeutic consultation with Marek Kalbus and a separate medical consultation.

This allows the personal concern, previous treatment, medical requirements and open questions to be discussed calmly.

Before, during and after the infusion

A three-hour time window is reserved for each appointment. Treatment does not begin only with the infusion.

In the consultation, we clarify what brings you to treatment and what may be helpful during the session. Uncertainty, expectations and previous experiences are also given space.

During the infusion, the process is accompanied through body psychotherapy or conversation. Awareness, breathing, inner imagery and bodily responses may be included without expecting or forcing a particular course.

After the infusion, there is time to return fully to the room and to one’s own body. The experience can be discussed and integrated afterwards or in a further appointment.

Where it suits the individual situation, hypnotherapy may also form part of the support.

Possible indications

When the treatment may be considered

The treatment is intended primarily for people with depressive symptoms.

For anxiety or the effects of distressing and traumatic experiences, it can also be considered together with the physician whether this form of treatment may be meaningful.

Not every psychological burden calls for a ketamine infusion. The appropriate form of treatment is considered carefully in both the personal and medical consultations.

Safety · collaboration

A protected setting

A ketamine infusion can temporarily alter perception, the sense of the body and inner imagery.

For this reason, treatment requires a particularly calm, safe and clearly structured setting.

You remain accompanied throughout the session. Body-psychotherapeutic touch is used only if it has been discussed beforehand and continues to feel appropriate in the moment.

Every step can be changed or paused.

Medical and psychotherapeutic support

Medical information, the infusion and its monitoring are the responsibility of the treating physician.

We provide the psychotherapeutic preparation, support during the infusion and subsequent integration of the experience.

In this way, medical safety and psychotherapeutic work remain clearly distinct while being carefully coordinated.
