Calm support for chronic pelvic pain in Berlin-Wilmersdorf

A Complex Pattern of Symptoms

When Pain Becomes More Than One Particular Place.

Pain that persists for months or repeatedly returns often changes movement, sleep, intimacy and trust in one’s own body. At the conSenso® Practice in Berlin-Wilmersdorf, we support patients with chronic pelvic pain when a single diagnosis does not explain the whole experience.

Chronic pelvic pain is initially a description, not yet a complete diagnosis. Sometimes there is a clear cause, such as endometriosis, scars or a condition involving the bladder or bowel. Sometimes several areas interact. And sometimes, despite thorough examinations, it remains unclear why the pain persists.

The symptoms are real. They deserve careful attention without being prematurely reduced to one structure or to psychological factors.

How Chronic Pelvic Pain May Be Experienced

Pain That Persists or Returns

The pain may feel dull, pulling, pressing, burning or sharp. Some patients feel it constantly. Others experience it in episodes or only in particular situations.

It may begin in the lower abdomen, sacrum, groin, hips or pelvic floor and radiate into the back or legs.

When Everyday Life Becomes Smaller

Prolonged sitting, walking, exercise, using the toilet or physical intimacy may become increasingly difficult. Sleep, work and recovery can also suffer.

Many patients begin to organise movement, journeys or social plans around their symptoms. Pain thereby takes up more space than is visible from the outside.

Pain and Connections

Persistent Pain Needs More Than One Explanation.

Joints, muscles, connective tissue, pelvic floor, scars, uterus, bladder, bowel and the nervous system may all be involved in chronic pelvic pain.

A clear diagnosis may exist and still not explain everything a patient feels. Conversely, pain is no less real when no single cause can be found.

The aim is not to explain everything psychologically. Nor is it always sufficient to look only at the painful area. What matters is which connections genuinely play a role in the individual case.

When Several Areas Respond

A pelvic floor that remains tense may be associated with pressure, pulling, bladder or bowel symptoms and pain during physical intimacy.

A sensitive abdominal wall, a restricted diaphragm, scars or tension in the back, hips and groin may also shape the overall pattern of symptoms.

When the Body Expects Pain

Recurring pain can change how the body responds to movement, touch or the anticipation of renewed symptoms. Muscles begin to hold sooner, breathing becomes shallower and sleep more restless.

These responses are not imagined. They show that the body is trying to protect itself. Physical and emotional burdens may be considered together without assuming a particular cause.
